Stronger, stronger, super magnets made of neodymium

They are called super magnets because, in fact, they are the strongest magnets on the market and, at the same time, they still bear witness to a better aesthetic appearance.

The super magnets didn't get their name for no reason. They're called super magnets because they're the strongest magnets on the market. They have advantages in all areas or sectors. For this reason it has consequences on its price. It all depends on the field of application and the planned function, whether you need a super magnet or whether, for example, a ferrite magnet is sufficient.

What makes super magnets so strong?

Of course, your composition. They consist of an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron, also called NdFeB. This base can be made in the smallest and finest forms as well as large sizes and can be supplied uncoated or with a nickel or zinc coating. However, large shapes are not always essential to this particular magnet. Even the smallest of these neodymium magnets have incredible adhesion, they can withstand up to six hundred times their own weight.

The alloy of super magnets is made by a special process called sintering. It was discovered by General Motors along with Sumitomo, a Japanese company. The process consists of alloying the supermagnets, grinding them into powder, pressing them again and sintering them. An external magnetic field is applied during production, which magnetically interprets the crystals. Without this procedure, no super magnet would emerge.

Because of their strength, care must be taken to ensure that superimans do not fall into the hands of children or approach people with pacemakers. Even with sensitive devices or magnetic stripe cards, keep your distance. In general, it rarely occurs in everyday life, so there is usually no risk.

Where are supermagnets used?

As already mentioned, super magnets are available in various designs. Therefore, it all depends on the area of application, which variant is right for you. The smaller, flatter forms are ideal for closing furniture or door lids, or for constructions in a simple and durable manner. At fairs, events or in construction, super magnets are particularly popular. The larger forms are commonly used in science. They are ideal for tests in which particularly strong magnetic fields are to be used.

As you can see, the super magnets have definitely earned their name.
