What are magnetic rollers?
A magnetic roller, also called a magnetic separator, serves to remove ferromagnetic contaminants that have deposited on a product during the production process. Ferromagnetic contaminants are usually deposited as small particles in the product being produced. Magnetic separators have two main advantages in the removal of ferromagnetic contaminants: first, they remove unwanted magnetic contaminants from the product and, second, the production equipment is protected by the removal of metal chips or metal particles. Occasionally, metal particles or chips damage a production plant, so they should be cleaned or repaired.
How do magnetic rollers work?
The magnetic roller is used to filter ferromagnetic materials, regardless of whether these ferromagnetic contaminants should be separated as bulk cargo or general cargo from other products. The flow of material passes under a magnet through a conveyor belt. Ferromagnetic impurities are attracted by the magnet. A second conveyor belt runs transversely underneath the magnet. As a result, ferromagnetic impurities are removed laterally from the magnetic rollers and can be sorted at the end of the belt.
Another application is the magnetic drum. In addition, magnetic separators can also be used in liquid media. Magnetic separators are mainly used for recycling scrap sorting. Here, filtering protects the fabric from damage. Magnetic rollers are used in sedimentology to clean contamination and analyze it.

Magnetic roller applications.

Any existing magnetic metal impurities will be easily collected while the conveyor belt is running by the magnet. They are then turned towards the bottom of the magnet. The metal particles move in the opposite direction to the magnet. At a given moment, the magnet will reject it and then it will be able to collect the impurities in a container.
Another form of magnetism used to clean impurities are suspension mats in the form of a block or plate, which have such a strong magnetic field that they attract magnetic impurities even at a distance. The maximum diameter of attractable metal particles is approximately 1mm. It can also attract metal particles on a conveyor belt. For this you need large suspension magnets. Suspension magnets can be designed as a permanent magnet and as an electromagnet.
Then there is the form of magnetic filtering with the help of magnetic filters. These are designed as a bar magnet. Bar magnets can also generate extremely strong magnetic flux densities. However, the maximum distance to metal particles is less than in the case of suspension magnets.
